My friends gf used to watch it every week. So basically when we went to her house to chill it was on so I saw how retarded it is. Same thing with that new show "secret life of a teenager" or something.

I think people find a character that is going through what they are and can connect. Show isnt that good anymore just loved that with Riley.

degrassi is basically a kid's version of a sitcom with about 50,000 characters. their idea of "huge drama" is someone coming out of the closet. which is why like every boy in the show is gay.

me: "wait, explain what degrassi is about"
him: "WELL, THERE'S THIS KID MARCO, AND HE'S GAY. SO, YEAH"

and that's what he tells me EVERY SINGLE TIME I ASK!!!!! WHAT'S SO DRAMATIC ABOUT BEING HOMOSEXUAL?

I still watch it from time to time but I don't like all the new characters... But it's still amusing to me that EVERYONE at Degrassi has had STDs, has been shot, raped, has done drugs, has been pregnant, etc... It's like, those kids never learn.

Marco came out a while ago. Him and Riley are diff people though so when they both came out it was diff storys. Theres more then one gay people on earth so it was a good storyline.

i might sound like a fag saying this but i've just started watching it and i am getting really into it. I can relate to alot of the people in the show through friends and people that i know. I'm downloading some of the past episodes just to get myself caught up.

I remember watching the first episode when it came out. Granted, I was still somewhat young - but sometimes it's on and I see maybe a few minutes of it...

Then I realize - I hate most reality/drama television...
